Description of idea

Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:

My idea in relation to the brief Radical Intimacies, Dialogue In Our Times “Dialogue is failing” is to make people aware of this issue and make a difference. After reading the brief many times I came to perception that dialogue is failing due to our current technologies. I wanted to create our campaign targeted at the youth generation as they are the main users of integrating technology but also so they can make a difference to our future. I created the idea of a phone free zone aimed at our generation y.

What kind of communication approach do you use?

The communication approach I have used is visual using a symbol and typography. I created a symbol of a mobile phone in a triangle that represented warning! Below the symbol was the text ‘free zone’.

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?

In my opinion the benefits of my campaign with have a huge impact to society, as my campaign will help to keep us in dialogue for future and away from our phones in public areas. I am targeting our youth generation as they are the main users of technologies and are always up to date but also because the young generation can make a difference to our future if they over come and think about the issue of failing dialogue today.

What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?

I have learnt from reading this brief is that Dialogue is failing due to the use of technologies in our current generation. Before reading this brief I was so stuck in an online world myself and wasn’t exactly aware of how much time I spend and how rude I am been on my phone in public more so than engaging with the things going on around me. Creating this campaign has really opened my eyes to the fact that dialogue is failing and friendships and relationships are been lost. By submitting my work I hope to make our community aware and make a difference.

Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?

My design is good because it could have a very large impact on club scenes that our younger generation is so highly based in. Changing the youth perception will make a change to our future as they are our future generation. The posters stickers and drink cards

Where and how do you intent do implement your work?

I plan to have my campaign in nightclubs all over the world advertising the main message of a phone free zone. Commuters will see advertisements on the wall as well as drink cards and sticker handouts.

Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change other media with your work- how?)

My intervention had the same effect across all media that i used
