Description of idea
Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the
festival outlines:
Don’t judge say hi campaign encourages Australians to socialise with people who may be struggling
with loneliness which can cause other serious health and mental issues in their life such as
isolation. Don’t judge say hi encourages everyone all ages who are feeling lonely, isolated, depressed
or anyone who needs someone to talk to, to join the campaign and socialise with others.
What kind of communication approach do you use?
How we promote ourselves:
-We sell stationary which promote interaction these include:
Greeting T-shirts
-Stickers which you can personalise and add your own greetings or introducing yourself
-Posters to promote our campaign and also events we organise
-Handouts with the campaigns details
-Sticker banners for promotion, can be stuck around universities, public transport and any space
which is allowed
-We also developed a social media campaign through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and
Tumblr
What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of
your communication?
Through Don’t judge say hi campaign creates great opportunities for individuals to meet other
people in the community which can lead to great friendships. We aim to combat the issue of loneliness,
this campaign ensures support and encouragement for all people with the help of our committee
members and also the people participating. We don’t want people to suffer alone, we are
here for them.
What did you personally learn from creating your submitted
work?
i learnt in our society we have developed a lot of social issues due to the lack of dialogue which
has still not been resolved. While creating my work and doing a lot of research i found other designers used all medias for their advertisements, each media was as powerful as the other.
Why is your work, GOOD communication
WORK?
The posters i designed one is to promote the campaign and what it is about then the other is to promote the events held.
The shirts have a greeting at the front then information about loneliness at the back. This can make people more aware of the problem and would be more encouraged to interact with others.
My last idea were stickers, one was to promote the campaigns name the other was more interactive which you could write in the speech bubble such as a compliment or greeting.
Where and how do you intent do implement your
work?
The advertisements would be displayed in most universities in Australia and also in public space such as tram stops, walls for promotion.
Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe
the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change
other media with your work-
how?)
no
