With strong feelings we are announcing the world premiere of Thieves in Our Home!

Thieves in Our Home shows Aunty Hazel, the founder of the Grandmothers Against Removal, as she explains how it feels when Aboriginal children are forcibly taken away as part of an ongoing process of colonization in Australia. This film is an exploration of radical intimacies inviting us to listen and see a whole world of beauty and resistance in the eyes of one of the most impressive activist grandmothers. Created by an international group of socially engaged individuals Thieves in Our Home is also a rare document of international solidarity with Australian Aboriginal people.

The film was created by an international group of committed academics, students, practitioners and activists who came together at the Memefest Radical Intimacies: Dialogue in Our Times event in 2014 on the land of the Kulin Nation in Melbourne.

The Film premiere will be: Tuesday 11.2.2020 @ Capitol Theatre Main Stage at 4pm.

The screening is part of the Activism@ the margins, stories of survival, resistance and social change event. Find our more about the event here: https://activism2020.eventcreate.com/
