Description of idea

Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:

My idea was to create a video in a documentary style that showed how hard it is to not only find organic food but the lack of variety if constrained by a one hour lunch break.

What kind of communication approach do you use?

I am communicating very literally and directly through a documentary video. Taking a camera to the streets and visiting the common places people would go on their lunch breaks and laying down the facts about the foods provided in these places.

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?

Hopefully the benefits would be that people become more educated of the hidden realities of the food they are consuming and show them that the variety of organic food is very low and hard to find, that to eat right it does take some time and effort but also that our communities are swamped with the wrong king of choices and they are almost impossible to avoid.

What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?

I learnt a great deal about the truth behind food, with my particular piece i learnt that if you want to support food democracy you have to put in a great deal of effort to educate yourself, find organic food and be prepared to pay more for it. I learnt that the variety of choices available to us are all failing to give us what we deserve.

Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?

It is good communication because it is laying out the facts directly in a manner that is easy to understand but also because it shows actions of a typical person on their lunch break visiting the places that most people can relate to such as McDonalds and Subway and then delivering facts about their food.

Where and how do you intent do implement your work?

The intention would be to intially share the video online via Facebook and youtube. Ideally I would like to see it being played in a public space close to food courts between the hours of 12pm and 2pm whilst people are on their luch breaks.

Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change other media with your work- how?)

No
