Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:

This work is love, power and conflict in terms of data mining. It acts as a typing karaoke, letting whatever someone types into a browsers text field become broadcasted via the seductive voice of Google translator service. It is a conflict within Google's algorithm that creates meaning from millions of laborers around the world, it is a game of power and embraces data mining with a song. It can be also used to monitor your loved ones, so carefully with whom you give it to! In live setting the session is also broadcasted on radio.

What kind of communication approach do you use?

I made a Firefox add-on, which can be installed on any Firefox browser and in that way changes the way you browse the Internet, whenever it is active, therefore giving you an alternative browser.

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?

It is important to realize how powerful simple software can be. The feeling that you can hear what you have typed in a browser become broadcasted on radio is frightening and exciting at the same time, as getting involved in the gray zone of access and control. While using the add-on as a karaoke, one tends to use a search engine as a medium for expression, therefore adding noise into the stream of information analyzed by Google's algorithm, making less data and more mining.

What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?

The Google translator voice is a good narrator. FIrefox add-ons are powerful software, and people should be more fluent in computer languages.

Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?

Because it is simple, and applicable. It could be used for different purposes, but it doesn't have to be, one can choose whether to activate it or not and when.
