Description of idea
Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:
Debt is a global issue faced by a lot of people. Usually, the reason behind spending is our endless wants and needs. The market offers unlimited goods and services yet, unfortunately, money falls under the category: “limited”. Therefore, when a credit card is issued, often its holders set a certain limit for the money they borrow from the bank to avoid spending what they can’t pay back. My poster, however, addresses those who exceed their limit and prioritize their wants and needs, forgetting the consequence of having to return to the bank the money that was borrowed. As a result, those people fall in debt because they don’t have enough money to cover what they owe the bank. My poster aims to raise awareness and advise those in debt to ignore the voices in their heads calling for more wants and needs and to focus on paying back their debt.
What kind of communication approach do you use?
I used photography in order to communicate my idea.
What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?
I believe that using effective photography will definitely attract people on the streets, as a first step. Next step, I hope, is that I deliver a clear and strong message that will raise awareness and motivate people in the society to pay their debts, if they have any.
What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?
I have actually learned a lot from this assignment. First, in class discussions grabbed my attention to a global problem that I, as a student, never really cared about or realized. Second, I have learned that the credit card I'm carrying and using it to buy silly things is actually money that my dad owes the bank and not money he owns. Also, I learned that I should really take more care while spending money because it's limited.
Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?
I believe that good photography communicates well because of its ability to attract viewers. Therefore, I believe that if my photography was able to attract people's attention to at least observe my work, I would think of my work as good and successful. Along with that, I hope to deliver a clear and strong message to have a completed project.
Where and how do you intent do implement your work?
I would want my work to be implemente in business fields like companies and banks. Also, I would want it to be displayed in public streets.
Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change other media with your work- how?)
