Description of idea

Describe your idea and concept of your work in relation to the festival outlines:

My design for MEME Festival was originally going to be about the rise in tax of tampons in Australia, after researching further I discovered that women are taxed in many other products than I had anticipated. ‘Pink Tax’ being the issue that intrigued me the most. The cartoon style for my animation was simple as not to distract from the impact of the message. This issue highlighted the unfairness in having a tax based on gender, being women pay more for the same products just because they are women.

What kind of communication approach do you use?

I hopefully achieved this by social media such as Facebook and YouTube.

What are in your opinion concrete benefits to the society because of your communication?

I wanted my main focus for the video to be the narration so that it would spread awareness of this hidden tax and motivate people of this cause.

What did you personally learn from creating your submitted work?

I discovered that women are taxed in many other products than I had anticipated. ‘Pink Tax’ being the issue that intrigued me the most.

Why is your work, GOOD communication WORK?

My short film is easy to follow, entertaining to watch and spreads the message it's trying to send.

Where and how do you intent do implement your work?

Social Media
- Facebook
- YouTube

Did your intervention had an effect on other Media. If yes, describe the effect? (Has other media reported on it- how? Were you able to change other media with your work- how?)

No
